Since the decline of the strong spring winds, evening flights of remote control airplanes have been a big deal at our house lately.
The three boys in our house each purchased a simpler style airplane from the Flite Test website and each succeeded in building one.
I’m just learning about this myself from them…apparently the art is not only figuring out how to build these, but also flying them is no picnic either.
(Hint…buy lots of replacement propellers……)
Sometimes it’s hard watching kids struggle, but that’s all part of growing up! Learning, tweaking, trying again…and again…and again…
I’m sure we can all agree life involves some crash landings once in awhile….just replace the propeller and go at it again! 😉
Do you/child/grandchild have an RC plane, car, or anything else like that and need a big area to use it? Let me know! We love to have farm visitors and to meet other families with similar interests!
A fun farm note… We are excited and proud! This week, the June swine-focused issue of The Land (an agriculture newspaper featuring MN and IA farm news) displayed a photo I took of one of our beautiful Berkshires!
What’s in the farm kitchen this week
The trip to Aldi this week brought lots of fresh fruit so the girls and I made a fruit salad for a baptism we went to on Sunday.
Wow…so tasty! A fresh fruit salad says “summer” about like a sun ripened tomato, fresh from the plant!
And, as best as I can think, there’s no way to fail a fruit salad…just cut up whatever you like best and toss together. YUM!
Bible inspiration this week
I recently started listening to a Bible study on the book of Philippians. This book always amazes me…here the apostle Paul is in prison, but the underlying message of the whole book is joy and thankfulness.
Wow. Would you be writing a letter of praise if you were in chains? I’m not sure I would be!
What an inspirational thing to consider! Makes me really look at my own perspective of life.
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-5
