Piggery Run Farm

100% Berkshire pork

A fun little gift idea

by | Dec 23, 2025

Happy Anniversary to us!  Lindsey and I celebrate 19 years of married life today.

Wow – time flies!  What a blessed 19 years we’ve had.

We don’t have any big plans for the day, but we may go to a museum and out to eat next week.

We both love museums but it’s much more fun to go as 2 adults than a family of 8 since we like to actually stand a read displays rather than running to the next one 2 seconds later like some children we know.

Here’s to 19+19+19 more…to my favorite guy in the world.

What’s in the farm kitchen this week

I can’t resist…here’s another non-food kitchen project we just did.

Awhile ago, my sister found a treasure at a thrift store – a pig shaped silicone mold that made 12 little pigs.  (Something like this.)

I believe it was technically supposed to make “pigs in a blanket” with some batter and little hot dogs, but these pig shaped crayons (made from broken up old crayons,) worked out great!  Perfect gifts for the young children in my life.

Our 9-year-old loved taking them out of the molds.

Aren’t they the most adorable little things??

Bible inspiration this week

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just 2 days away!  In our house, we’ve been thinking about upcoming celebration of the birth of baby Jesus.

So the shepherds hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Luke 2:16-19

May you take time this Christmas season to “treasure up” the Christmas reminder of a Lord so loving he came to earth to be one of us so that we can join him in heaven someday.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

Position

We are Lindsey and Naomi Johnson, along with our 6 farm kids. We are a small family farm in Gibbon, Minnesota. We spend our days experiencing God's love, growing our own food, and encouraging and teaching others to do the same. We raise our hogs with plenty of mud and sunshine and feed them an alternative diet of barley and field peas, along with summer barnyard forage and grass hay bedding 24/7/365. This means healthy and happy pigs, delicious pork, corn/soy/GMO/vaccine free! We also farrow to finish, which means our hogs are born here and live here their entire lives in a laid-back, stress-free pig paradise.
